Who doesn't want more romance in their relationship?  There are many people who actually believe that love always comes from the heart but it is not always true. It is actually considered as a chemical process which starts developing from brain. This is ironically not a very romantic notion, but true.

You need to understand it well and how exactly it is working so that you can keep your romantic relationship live and make your relationship healthy as well.

The Love Drug Explained in Simple Terms

When some romantic relationship begins, our brain first tries to release a chemical which is known as phenylethylamine, or PEA. Many people call it the love drug. The problem is, it doesn't last. It's purpose is to get two people to initial bond.  Sustaining it is not chemically possible for the long haul.

It is a chemical which is normally responsible to making you feel something different, euphoric. You feel like you are walking in air and it also interferes with sleep. It happens when you are  thinking about your partner.

Other Love Chemicals

One more type of chemical which is released in our mind is called dopamine. It is one kind of neurotransmitter which helps us to send message from one cell to another and it also helps us to boost over energy level.

During challenging or exciting, new or risk-taking events, the level of this chemical rises. So, when you are going on a date for the first time then at that time your level of dopamine is very high. The first time you kiss, dopamine kicks in.

There are other kinds of neurotransmitters triggered by exciting events. Some of them are called endorphins and serotonin. These are good things, which help you feel good. Situations like when you laugh or do some exercise, fall in love, etc.

It also helps you to motivate and forces you to do the same things again and again. If you are feeling comfortable and relaxed then it is because of Serotonin. These are also felt when you are in initial stage of your relationship.

Keeping up the Romance with Chemical Triggers

Once you are there with your partner for many years then you can get habituated to routine. When the relationship becomes routine and boring, the neurotransmitters are probably bored, too.

Trigger hormone release by adding new and exciting activities.Keep exercise a part of your lifestyle.  Take weekend trips together.  Participate in more-childish like behavior, like running in the rain, going to an amusement park, go skydiving. Keep your life fun and exciting.

Some of these chemical are developed by touch. Kiss each other off guard.  Hold hands or cuddle as often as you can.

When both partners feel intimate touch and care for each other, then it will surely help you to make your relationship bond stronger and make your romantic life better.

Oxytocin is a hormone that triggers a sense of attachment. When couples are intimate, this can help bring them closer. Make the bedroom life exciting and new.

After falling in love, many of the "love drug" chemicals can diminish. This is when bonding and commitment occur, "real love" as some may call it. This involves great comfort, stability and commitment towards your partner. It can make your relationship stronger.

At this point, it becomes important to find ways to stay in love. Couples have to take initiative to develop romance in thier relationship.
