For those who love to cook, it seems they can never have enough gadgets or tools for use in the kitchen. When it comes to gift giving for those kitchen lovers, ideas may not always come easy, especially to those who do not spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

While the Christmas season is just around the corner, these gifts are great for kitchen lovers any time of the year. If you know someone who loves to cook and be creative in the kitchen, here are some great ideas for gifts.

1. Cookware

Every cook loves having new cookware. However, cookware can get expensive when buying a whole set. Consider a unique piece of cookware that may supplement their cookware collection. Don't over look simple items like measuring cups, muffin pans, or baking sheets.

One way to make it unique is by adding a recipe or some ingredients they can use with their new gift.

2. Variety of Oils and Vinegars.

New oils and vinegars are a great way to create a new recipe or spice up an old dish. Most cooks will have the standard olive oil and vinegar in their kitchen. A flavored vinegar like balsamic or raspberry or more exotic oil can add to their kitchen repertoire.  Take a look around a specialty food store to find things like truffle oil, walnut oil, avocado oil, or other varieties of oils and vinegars.

3. Plastic Storage Containers.

One can never have enough containers for leftovers, smaller kitchen items, or a place to store ingredients. Somehow they manage to get lost or handing out to guests. Consider highly quality that will last for years, and be sure they are safe for the freezer, dishwasher, and microwave! Buy several different shapes and sizes.  Make it a special gift by filling them up with varieties of nuts or candies.

4. Recipes and Recipe Organizer

Those who love to cook are always on the lookout for new recipes.  Soon enough there is a drawer full of recipes.  Having recipes organized is helpful for someone who cooks often and needs to find an ingredient list quickly.  You can get creative by putting recipes in the organizer ahead of time.

5. Liquor and Wine

These gifts are not only good to provide a cook with a relaxing beverage while cooking.  Another wonderful use for alcohol in the kitchen is in the cooking itself. Deglaze mushrooms or meat dishes with cognac or brandy. Any desert recipe involving raisins can be made into a rum-raisin recipe by soaking the raisins in rum overnight. Most likely your cook or baker will not splurge on such luxurious liquids.

Like liquor, wine is also useful for creating incredible glazes and sauces. So why not buy your favorite chef a few bottles of liquor or wine to cook with?

6. Cookbooks

Well, this is a common gift idea, but those who enjoy cooking love cookbooks.  Don’t just get any old run of the mill cookbook.  Figure out what your kitchen dweller loves to cook and where their cookbook library has gaps and focus on those books. Look for a specialty cookbook store and you'll have a fantastic gift in your hands.

7. Gift Card to A Restaurant

People who love to cook generally love to eat.  Trying different recipes and menu items can provide great motivation for a chef.  Not to mention, it gives them a break in the kitchen.  Often times, a cook gets more pleasure form creating dishes for others and doesn’t get time to enjoy the actual meal. This is a simple, but fantastic idea for those who enjoy eating food as much as preparing and serving it to others.

8. Small Appliances

There are plenty of small appliances that can make a kitchen connoisseur’s life easier.  How about a new electric mixer, coffee grinder, or Panini press?  These are wonderful supplemental tools for any kitchen lover.

If you do not want to run out to an appliance store, consider shopping online for these items. Small appliances are almost always cheaper when purchased on-line and shipping is often free.

9. Gifts for Entertaining

People who love to cook probably love to share their dishes with others.  Buying beautiful glassware, place mats, serving utensils, or dishes gives them a chance to entertain guests with good quality tableware. Unique linen napkins with gorgeous napkin rings are also a nice addition to kitchen accessories.

10. Fun Gadgets

There are specialty cookware stores that carry kitchen items for every possible cooking and baking incident. They sell items you never thought you needed, but now can’t live without. Imagine how a kitchen lover would enjoy owning some of these gadgets. Peruse through these stores and come up with a few creative ideas that provide great gifts.  When is the last time you saw someone with a great twirling spaghetti fork?

If you can’t decide, get a gift card for a store that sells unique kitchen items.  That way if there is anything they do not have, the kitchen lovers can go pick it out themselves.  Another idea is to create your own gift basket by combining several of the above ideas. Now that is an incredible gift for any kitchen lover!

Have fun with these gifts. There are plenty of ways to put smiles on faces of kitchen lovers.
